Katie Kerrigan, MA, LMFTA (she/they)

Welcome! My name is Katie (she/they). I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate (LMFTA) residing on the Indigenous lands of the Duwamish people.

I earned my Master of Arts in Couple and Family Therapy, along with a certificate in Sex Therapy, from Antioch University Seattle. I approach therapy through a systemic, trauma-informed, and anti-racist lens. I affirm neurodiverse, queer, poly, and kink identities and embrace a sex- and body-positive perspective.

With a compassionate, client-centered approach, I enjoy working with LGBTQIA+, BIPOC, and neurodiverse individuals as they navigate life transitions, trauma, and identity development.

In individual work, I support clients in processing experiences related to intimacy challenges, sexual abuse, gender identity and exploration, sexual orientation, and body image. I strive to create a safe and affirming space for personal healing and growth.

When working with couples, I help partners navigate communication, intimacy, and relational dynamics while fostering mutual respect and understanding. I actively advocate for bodily autonomy, gender equity, and collective liberation for people of all bodies, races, gender identities, and social locations.

In every session—whether individual or relational—I aim to bring warmth, sex positivity, creativity, and respectful curiosity as we explore your goals for therapy in ways that feel right for you.

My approach to therapy emphasizes your story and strengths. This can include models such as Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS/parts work). While I feel comfortable using these approaches, I prioritize working collaboratively with you to build a style of therapy that fits your unique needs. I support clients in defining and creating fulfilling relationships on their own terms.

I believe that everyone deserves access to respectful, affirming, and transformative mental health care. I invite feedback throughout our work together and will regularly check in to hear your thoughts and input.
