Justine Yahnke, LICSW (she/her)

I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over ten years of experience supporting individuals across diverse identities and life experiences. My areas of focus include identity exploration, neurodivergence, life transitions, the impacts of trauma, and relationship distress or conflict.

I work with people aged 13+, many of whom are LGBTQ+ or neurodivergent and navigating anxiety, life transitions, or the impact of trauma. They may be struggling to engage in school or work, feeling disconnected in important relationships, or carrying experiences that still feel heavy. I find that I work well with folks who may struggle to feel their emotions or are often overwhelmed by them.

I integrate practical, evidence-based approaches like Dialectical and Cognitive Behavioral therapy (DBT and CBT), along with trauma-focused and somatic practices such as EMDR and movement. I show up as a real person, grounded, curious, and sometimes a little humorous. Even in difficult conversations, there can be room for levity and shared humanity. I’m here to support you in building insight, resilience, and confidence as you move through life’s challenges.

In our work together, we’ll focus on understanding your emotions, building skills to manage intense feelings, and creating relationships that feel secure and supportive—helping you build a life that feels meaningful, grounded, and genuinely joyful.

In my free time, I love hanging out with my partner and our pets (Kona and Kitty), playing in the garden, reading books that take me to other worlds, listening to music, and trying new tasty foods. I’m also always up for a good stroll, noticing fun plants, animals, and the world around me.
