Joel Grossbard, PhD (he/him)
Joel works with adolescents, young adults, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges, including depression, anxiety, adjustment-related concerns, and substance-use issues.
Much of his work focuses on helping people move through major life transitions across adolescence, early adulthood, and midlife, as well as managing stress related to school, work, relationships, and shifting responsibilities. He shares:
I am a licensed clinical psychologist with over 10 years of experience in private practice working with individuals (adolescents/young adults and adults).
I have a MA in Child/Adolescent Development and earned my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington.
As part of my postdoctoral training, I worked at the VA Puget Sound and the University of Washington Athletic Department, and I currently provide specialized services to both Veterans and athletes in my private practice.
Joel draws from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Behavioral Activation, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based approaches. He integrates these modalities in a flexible, collaborative way, tailoring treatment to each client’s goals, strengths, and lived experience.
