Rachel Shinabarger, MA, LMHCA (she/her)

I specialize in working with children, adolescents and young adults.

My therapy is rooted in building a supportive relationship with the client that is empowering and validating. I honor that you are already enough as you are, while encouraging you to become who you want to be. My approach is warm and caring and I use invitation over obligation. Everyone is capable of growth and healing and I love highlighting clients’ special strengths. I collaborate with clients to find an approach together that works best for you. This includes adapting to meet neurodivergent needs and using trauma-informed care. I gently guide clients to explore and embrace emotions and understand behaviors.

When working with children, I use therapeutic play and creative practices to appropriately engage children. I value children as independent beings that deserve to be seen and respected as unique individuals. In order to facilitate growth, I incorporate caregiver support into working with youth. Caregivers and families come in a wide range and I meet you and your child where you’re at.
