Presented by Dr. Tanya Johnson, this one-hour training introduces religious trauma through an intersectional feminist framework, with attention to relational, cultural, and intergenerational factors.

Particular focus is given to the ways marginalized people are impacted within high-control religious and spiritual communities, especially when doctrine condemns or erases core aspects of identity.

Participants will learn how religious trauma can present and how to assess and support clients using a multidimensional approach. The training explores intervention strategies that address intrapersonal experiences, interpersonal dynamics, community contexts, and broader cultural influences.

This training is designed for clinicians and helping professionals seeking a more nuanced, justice-oriented understanding of religious trauma and practical tools for supporting clients navigating faith-related harm.
